The 291st Digital Liaison Detachment, Maryland Army National Guard, embeds into the multinational force headquarters to ensure interoperability and coordination across all joint warfighting functions. For DEFENDER-Europe 22 and HEDGEHOG 22, the 291st DLD is enabling interoperability between Estonian Defense Forces and Army V Corps. DEFENDER-Europe 22 is a series of Army Europe and Africa multinational training exercises within European Command’s Large Global Scale Exercise construct taking place in Eastern Europe. DEFENDER-Europe 22 demonstrates Army Europe and Africa’s ability to conduct large scale ground combat operations across multiple theaters in support of NATO and the National Defense Strategy.
