Distant view of Tirefour Broch on a commanding ridge overlooking the Lynn of Lorn, Lismore Island, Scotland, UK, looking SW from Port Maluag (Moluag). Remains of a circular, double-walled defensive tower dating from the Iron Age around 500BC. St Moluag landed near here c AD562. He was losing a sailing race with St Columba to claim Lismore so he cut off a finger and threw it on to the beach to win the island with his flesh. The broch (centre R rear) was just visible above the trees in 1997.
