oncidium excavatum orchid


Known also as Oncidium cajamarco, after the plains of Cajamarco in Peru, the site where Pizarro met the Incas. Native to Ecuador and Peru, where it grows terrestrially at quite high elevations. Inflorescence on the specimen plant reach past three feet, flowers 1 1/4". Temperature Tolerant. Fall blooming. Species from Ecuador and Peru.
