A large sockeye salmon run in the fall on the Chilko River in the remote Cariboo Chilcotin region of British Columbia attracts large numbers of grizzly bears and bear cubs, along with a variety of other wildlife. The bears gorge on salmon to put on weight for their winter hibernation.
