Thomas Perry & Son Ltd., Iron Merchants and Manufacturers, Highfield Works, Bilston, circa 1890. A massive iron roll for a rolling mill leaving the premises on a Great Western Railway wagon drawn by shire horses. Thomas Perry founded his iron founders in 1806 and gradually came to specialise in the heavier end of the iron manufacturing business, making armour plate, boilers, safes, rolling mills, gears and large steam engines. The foreman (in bowler hat) and the owner (in top hat) are leaning against the cart, and the carter is in the background (wearing a felt hat).
