Marsh mongoose (Atilax paludinosus). The marsh or water mongoose lives in marshes, reed beds and estuaries throughout sub-Saharan Africa. It is omnivorous, feeding on crustaceans, frogs, fruits, insects or birds' eggs. The marsh mongoose is solitary and mainly active between dusk and dawn. Photographed in the Paarl Bird Sanctuary in South Africa.
