Hanley Road Primary Care Centre, one of 49 NHS GP practices sold off to Operose, a subsidiary of the American healthcare insurance giant, Centene Corporation. Islington, London, UK. The North Central London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) gave control of the practices to Operose on the understanding that the directors of AT Medics, the group of GPs who previously ran the practices, would be retained. In the event, the AT Medics directors were dismissed and replaced with Operose directors. Centene has faced large fines in the US for its failure to deliver quality health services.
