Judge Burnside succeeded Judge Huston on thebench of the Common Pleas and also on the bench ofthe Supreme Court, and stepped into his shoes in 18:2(1and again in 1845, being his immediate successor inboth instances. In 1841 he resigned his judgeshijihere, and Governor Porter appointed him to anotherin Montgomery County, and George W. Woodwardwas appointed his successor in this district. On the2d of January, 1845, Judge IJuniside was appointed ajudge of the Supreme Court, and he served in thatcapacity until the time of his death in March, succeeded in that court by Judge George \ As
