National Slate Museum, Llanberis: slate wagons, rails, cables & roller house on the restored V2 Incline of the Vivian Quarry. Finished slates were moved down to the rail-link to the harbour at Port Dinorwic/Felinheli on inclined planes linking stepped galleries cut into the hillside. The weight of a descending loaded wagon pulled an empty one back up. In use c 1875-1930s, restored in 1998. Museum run by The National Museums and Galleries of Wales, Padarn Country Park by Gwynedd County Council. The Dinorwig Slate Quarry Mountain Landscape is part of The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales which became the UK's 32nd UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 July 2021.
