We suggest that such elements are easily lost, since transitions in the formation or reduction of the apertural rim are common (see above and Couteaux, 1976, Fig. U; Ogden & Hedley, 1980, PI. 24; Rauenbusch, 1987 PI. 16, Fig. a). At the present state of knowledge it seems wise to classify our population as C. kahli. For detailed ecological data see Bonnet (1989a).
