Church of Latter Day Saints. The white granite temple building is a historic monument of the first Mormon settlement in Canada at Cardston, Alberta.
The temple is a nationally significant historic and architectural monument in Canada. It was designed in 1912 by Pope and Burton of Salt Lake City. The geometric design combines ancient Mayan-Aztec architecture with the Prairie School of Frank Lloyd Wright. It was restored in 1991.
