Mottistone Manor, Isle of Wight, mentioned in the Domesday Book, the listed building is the ancestral home of the Seely family. The oldest parts of the building are the southeast wing built in the 16th century. The northwest wing was remodelled in 1567 by Thomas Cheake with further additions in the 17th century. Charles Seely took charge of the manor in 1861 and there was significant remodelling in the 1920s. The estate is now managed by the National Trust and there are now delightfully cared for gardens open to the public during the summer months.
