A Sunbeam Supreme. A car like this was driven by the actress Grace Kelly in the movie To Catch A Thief. Her co-star in that movie was Cary Grant. Between 1953 and 1955 just over 1500 cars were manufactured with most going to the United States. Rootes encompassed many well-known British Marques in the 1960's including Sunbeam, Hillman, Humber, and Singer. Sunbeam cars were built in Great Britain from 1899 to 1981. Sunbeam built many different models in this time, although the emphasis was always on upmarket, sporting models. Sunbeam were also very successful in many facets of motorsport. A 1956 Sunbeam 90 (The Talbot part was dropped for this model.) litre engine as in the Humber Hawk. Four speed gearbox with a column change. A nice sporty saloon.
