ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 19, 2020) A Landing Safety Officer (LSO) assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) gives directions to a pilot flying an F/A-18F Super Hornet prior to landing during flight operations aboard the ship. Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Testing to further test its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
