Extruded uPVC window frames. uPVC is unplasticized polyvinyl chloride. Also known as rigid PVC, it is used extensively in the construction industry. PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a polymer made up of repeating units of vinyl chloride. In its rigid form it is a brittle white solid. The flexible form is obtained by the addition of plasticisers. Extrusion is a manufacturing process where objects with a fixed cross-section are produced by drawing a suitable material through a die or mould with that shape.
