UNITED STATES - April 25, 2016: A couple of years ago, a woman who works in the LCPS records office discovered black student records that had been sitting untouched since 1960. The records include the first petition by the Loudoun black community for their own high school, among other really amazing pieces. Here Larry Roeder, the chair for research on Thomas Balch Library’s Black History Committee, is undergoing a year-long process to create a digital database of the records.
