Nepal. Island Peak Trek. A visiting butcher demonstrates his skills to waiting Sherpa lady customers. Meat is a real treat for families in what is a basic vegetarian diet. The butcher has carried two whole leg loins of a Jak cow along the the animals liver [seen here] from Lukla town several hours walk away visiting all the small communities until there is nothing left of the meat. Even the bones will be used to make soup-broth then later pounded to dust to provide fertiliser
