Oxford, England - 27 October 2019; A tranquil scene by Thames at Oxford, just upstream of Folly Bridge. It's a misty Autumn morning, and the trees are aflame. Here we see a line of houseboats moored by the river, one with a very smoky boiler! Not a lot of folk know that the Oxfordshire part of the Thames is called 'Isis'. This alarming name is actually derived from the ancient name of the entire River Thames - 'Tamesis'.
