Lone female walker on raised pebble beach, Ardskenish, Isle of Colonsay, Scotland, UK. Raised beaches have been formed in Scotland since the last Ice Age as the land has slowly risen (recovered) after being depressed by the massive weight of ice. The Hebridean Island of Colonsay has some fine examples of this geological feature.
