1972 snapshot of a commonwealth Railways old motor coach train on display in Alice Springs. Officially named Steam Motor Coach , it was built by Kiston & Co, Leeds, England for the South Australian Railways and used in the Northern Division. In 1924 it was taken over by Commonwealth Railways. nicknamed 'Coffee Pot') it was restored to working order by the Pichi Richi Preservation Society
