Splendid rains have insured good •crops of asters and sweet peas for the next two or three weeks at least. Greenhouse stock of all descriptions is remarkably scarce, for business is as- tonishingly good for this season of the year. A good many florists are going from Brampton and Toronto to the fifteenth annual convention of the Canadian Horticultural Association at Fraser hall, Montreal. The convention takes place August 6 to 9, and, as the R. & O. boat- trip down Lake Ontario and through the famous rapids is one of the finest in Canada, those who travel by that route are looking forward to a pleasant week's outing, esp^ially as the Montreal program is a particularly attractive one.
