He was a pupil of Mozart and Haydn, and soon became the equal of his masters. Jérome Bonaparte then King of Westphalia gave him the direction, from his chapel and he received from the Archduke Rudolf, the Count of Kinski, and Prince Lobkovits, a pension of 4,000 florins. He was early afflicted with deafness which made him morose and died in 1827. excelled especially in instrumental music, and we owe him a large number of Symphonies and Sonatas
