Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley and built in 1923 at Doncaster, this Iconic steam locomotive "Flying Scotsman" was the first to reach 100 mph and the first to curcumnavigate the globe. It also holds the world record with a non stop 442 mile trip for a steam locomotive. It is now used for excursions up and down the United Kingdom.
