Parts marked A incut illustrate the two parts composingthe pivot; the one showing the pivotpin which is placed in the head jamof the door frame and the other intothe top corner of the door. The illus-tration marked B in cut shows howthe two parts are coupled together whenhanging a door; the spring is presseddown to admit the pivot pin throughthe slot at the edge of the door and when. the pin comes opposite the hole in thespring part it will enter and the springwill go back to its normal position, asshown in cut marked C. The com-pany have made application for patenton their new device and are the soleowners and manufacturers. A NOVEL KNIFE. Among the many new sporting articlesin the market is one which is being in-troduced by the St. Lawrence SportingGoods Co., Montreal. This firm is soleagent in Canada of a knife which ispractically a tool chest in itself. Nothicker than many a three-bladed knife,only 3£ inches in length, and weighingbut. 3£ ounces, the knife contains twoordinary blades, a can opener, a saw,a pair of scissors, a screwdriver, andan ice pick. Another knife, instead ofhaving the saw and scissors, has a shellextractor for 12 and 16 gauges. Theusefulness to the sporting man, and tothe camper, of such a knife, not onlyfor the tools carried, but also for itshandy dimensions and chain hook, is ap-parent.
