Cem Sultan (1459-1495). Ottoman prince, son of Sultan Mehmed II (1432-1481). Cem imprisoned in Rhodes, where he had taken refuge in July 1482 asking for the protection of Pierre d'Aubusson, Grand Master of the Hospitallers, who betrayed him by making a pact with Bayezid. In March 1483 Aubusson reached an agreement with Bayezid to keep Cem in captivity in exchange for money for his upkeep. In 1489 Cem was moved to Rome and handed over to Charles VIII of France, 1495.
