In 1869 he built his largewine cellar, in 1879 his spacious MiddleBass Club hall, used for the accommoda-tion of the club. He is owner and masterof the fine steamer Leroy Brooks, partowner of the steamer Secord, whichplies between Port Clinton and the islandsduring the summer months, and is also astockholder in the Sandusky Fish Com-pany. He was the first trustee of Put inBay township, and has also efficientlyfilled many other township offices. Heis a member of Science Lodge No. 50,F. & A. M., of Sandusky, Erie county,and was a member of Erie CommanderyNo. 22, Sandusky, Ohio, but resigned in189s; is a member of Commodore PerryLodge L O. O. F., of Put in Bay; and acharter member of Guttenberg-Hin LodgeNo. 91, Druids, Sandusky. Few menhave come more in contact with the grow-ing interests of Put in Bay township, andnone have commanded more completel)the respect and confidence of the com-munity than William Rehberg. He hasrisen by his own individual efforts, andmay justly be styled a self-made gentlemanly demeanor, he alwaysmeets his associates, both in social andbusiness circles, with a cordial and friendlybearing; as a public man he has dis-char
