Tricolor Heron looking for signs of fish in shallow water at Estero lagoon. A medium to large wading bird with long neck and spearlike bill. Stands with neck erect or head on shoulders. In flight neck folded. Note the contrasting white belly, the key field mark of this very slender dark heron with white rump.
