They will render possible operationswhich have been considered impossible by the best military engineers. All these operations have been tested experimentally and illus-trated by photographs exhibiting actual results. The ConstructionCorps has rendered valuable service in making these experiments attimes when they would have been otherwise unemployed. Instead ofallowing the men to remain idle in camp, they have been constantlyexercised and employed in some way by which they could be made topay expenses.
