Midwifes and their supporters rally on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2004, in support of vaginal birth as opposed to cesarean section. The rally, organized by the group Choices in Childbirth, was to draw attention to what they believe is the exclusion of vaginal birth by doctors and hospitals because cesarean sections are more convenient and can be scheduled. 2002 figures report the cesarean delivery accounted for of all the births in the United States and is the highest level ever reported.
