A percussion rifle, Karl Pirko, Vienna, circa 1840. Octagonal, rifled, rose Damascus barrel in 10 mm calibre with a hook breech, dovetailed front sight and adjustable rear sight. The top of the barrel has ornamental silver inlays and is signed "PIRKO IN WIEN" (Pirko in Vienna). The percussion lock is engraved with floral designs. Set trigger. The lock plate, tang, and side plate are inlaid with hunting themes in silver. Beautifully carved walnut half stock with cheek piece and engraved iron furniture. The trigger guard is partly of horn.
