After flexion, andperhaps circumduction, the reduction may be completed by rotation,or by extension of the thigh at right angles with the anterior surfaceof the body. The dorsal dislocation owes its inversion to the external fasciculusof the ilio-femoral ligament. In the ischiatic dislocation, dorsal below the tendon (Bigeloiv),the head is arrested, in extension, by the tendon of the obturator andthe subjacent capsule.
