Young, Jr., and Miss Gertrude Worland were married February 9 at the home of the bride. Mr. Young says they will spend their honeymoon at New Orleans during the Mardi Gras. The Japanese monkeys displayed in the show windows of Waldbart's, on Grand avenue, are great drawing cards. Crowds are constantly gathering in front of the windows wondering what the monkeys are made of. Wensel & Hecht, of Anglum, Mo., are consigning an excellent cut of fancy butterfly sweet peas, which demand top prices, to the Windier Wholesale Floral Co. Geo. H. Angermueller has been han- dling large shipments of carnations in the last week. The supply shipments to the southwestern trade have been quite large lately. The consignments of roses to the W. C. Smith Wholesale Floral Co., from W. J. Pilcher and Werner Bros., are of fine quality. At present the crop is short, but they expect to be in full crop the next two days. Paddy Patton's latest groundhog poem: The backbone of winter Is broken. The groundhog has given a token; Full soon we can sing Of the flowers In spring. And the crocus will shortly be croakln*.
