He walks on the upper side of the os cuboides and the lower end of the fibula, that is, on the top of the foot and outer ankle ; and a large callusor cushion, is formed at this spot, on both feet. This lad remained under treatment about eight weeks, andowing to a want of pecuniary means, could not remain longer. 19 He was not entirely cured; and, the next year, was put undertreatment again. The result may be seen in the followingengravings. The feet were almost precisely alike beforetreatment, and the cure in both was equally perfect. Onthis account, the representation of but one foot is given. Fig. 1 represents the patients feet when he first cameunder treatment. It so happened, that the second casts ofthe feet, of which these engravings are copies, were not takenuntil twelve years after they were cured. Fig. 1. — Before treatment. Fio. 2. — After This young man has recently visited Boston, and his feetarc perfect both in form and in freedom of action. Manyof the intervening years he has passed as a sailor, beforethe mast; and he states that he has never experienced anyinconvenience from his feet, whether on land or sea. Whenlast heard from, he had been promoted to the office ofcaptains mate. This case is here mentioned as one of numerous examplesthat might be cited, which have presented themselves someten or twelve years after restoration, where the strength ofre-united or new tendon had been rigorously tested, andwhere the perfection and permanence of the cure was stri-kingly exemplified. In this connection, Ave will refer to one other similarcase. It is that of a young man, son of a clergyman, whowas treated in another city for club-foot when a child, but 20 who came to Boston some years si
