ATLANTIC OCEAN (Jan. 21, 2020) USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) Commanding Officer Capt. John J. Cummings joins Sailors on the flight deck for a Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walk down prior to flight operations. FOD walk downs are conducted prior to flight operations and during the daily operation cycle to ensure that no objects are loose on the deck that may be ingested into an engine and cause damage to an aircraft.
