Cirrhosis of a human liver. Light micrograph, with periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining, of regenerating nodules of hepatocytes (liver cells). Glycogen in the hepatocytes is stained pink. Surrounding the nodules there are thick connective tissue septa showing fibrosis and chronic inflammatory infiltrates.
