Rowland has designed asthe Lincoln High School, as a fit and beautiful memorial with whichJersey City has perpetuated that meeting of those who first honoredLincoln there. Of course no real civic function in those times would be complete?without the firemen, so all the Bergen companies were out in full forceand uniform. The firemen, as well as the school children, wore specialmourning badges, and I have one of each of these, doubtless the onlyones now extant.
