There has alsobeen found in Denmark, ina sepulchre of the Stoneage, a similar vase, with twovertical tubular holes oneach side for suspension; itis preserved in the EoyalMuseum of Nordiske Oldsagerin Copenhagen, and is repre-sented among the vases ofthe Stone age, in J. J. Nordiske Oldsager,p. 20, No. 100. This Danishvase is covered with a lid,having on each side twocorresponding perforations,through which the stringswere passed: in this waythe vase could be shut quite close. Similar vase-covers, with two tubularholes far suspension on each side, are frequent in this first city. Theaccompanying engraving represents two such vase-covers, of which the No. 26. No. No. 25.
