monastery church San Benito el Real, Benedictine order, Gothic style in the city of Valladolid, Castile and Leon, Spain
The Church of San Benito el Real, of the Benedictine order, is one of the oldest temples in Valladolid. It was erected on the former Royal Palace and is made in Gothic style, although the front porch-shaped tower is later: it was designed by Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón in 1569. Originally, the tower height had a lot more thanks to the two other bodies exist for the bell tower were on the present and which were demolished in the nineteenth century for threatening ruin. La Iglesia de San Benito el Real, de la orden benedictina, es uno de los templos más antiguos de Valladolid. Fue erigida sobre el antiguo Alcázar Real y está realizada en estilo gótico; aunque la fachada en forma de torre pórtico es posterior: fue diseñada por Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón en 1569. Originalmente, esta torre poseía bastante más altura gracias a la existencia otros dos cuerpos para el campanario que se encontraban sobre los actuales y que fueron derribados en el siglo XIX por amenazar ruina.
