Great River Energy is a not-for-profit electric cooperative and is owned by a 28 member cooperative for which electricity is generated and transmitted. Members are located in the outer-ring suburbs of the Twin Cities up to the Arrowhead region of Minnesota and down to the farmland region in the southwestern portion of the state. Member cooperatives distribute electricity to approximately 645,000 homes, businesses and farms. Great River Energy is the second largest electric power supplier in Minnesota and one of the largest generation and transmission (G&T) cooperatives in country.
