Felt-capped Catasetum or Mother of Pearl Flower Catasetum pileatum (Catasetum bungerothii). Catasetum orchid with creamy yellow flowers. It caused "quite a sensation" when it was first shown in London in 1886. Chromolithograph drawn by P. de Pannemaeker, for Jean Linden's "L'Illustration Horticole" published in Ghent in 1886. Jean Linden (1817-1898) was a Belgian explorer, horticulturist, scientist and publisher of botanical books.
