Mt. Herdubreid, Central Highlands, Iceland. Mt. Herdubreid is a high table mountain in the highlands and close to Askja volanco. It is also near the Holuhraun Lava Field. On August 29, 2014 a fissure eruption started in Holuhraun at the northern end of a magma intrusion, which had moved progressively north, from the Bardarbunga volcano.
