The African and French Marigolds are old favorite free-flowering annuals of easy culture; both are ex- tremely effective. The former have uniformly large yellow or orange-colored flowers, and are well adapted for large beds or mixed borders, the latter are dwarfer in growth, with beautifully striped flowers, and better suited for bedding purposes, or for pot culture; they succeed best in a light soil, with full exposure to the sun. A vase or bowl of any of the rich yellow sorts in combination with a few blue Larkspurs or Corn- flowers is very striking. (See also Calendula and Tagetes.) AFRICAN VARIETIES. PER PKT. 3084 Orange Prince. A high-bred type, bear- ing densely double flowers of a rich deep golden-orange color; very showy; J-oz., 50 cts. 15 3085 Lemon Queen.
