The Church of Our Savior (Danish: Vor Frelsers Kirke) is a baroque church in Copenhagen, Denmark, which belongs to the Church of Denmark. It is famous for its spiral spire with an external spiral staircase that can be used to climb to the top, where it offers wide views over the city center. The construction, conceived to serve as the main temple to Christianshavn (now a district of Copenhagen), was designed by Lambert van Haven in the Dutch baroque style, began in 1682 and was inaugurated in 1696. Its characteristic spire was built between 1749 and 1752 by Laurids of Thurah, inspired by the church of Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza in Rome.
