A view of sunlit clouds over the Earth, photographed by the crew of Shuttle Discovery during Mission STS-29 of 13-18 March 1989. STS-29 was the second post-Challenger Shuttle mission, and successfully deployed one of NASA's Tracking and Data Relay System (TDRS) satellites, TDRS-D. This replaced the TDRS-2 unit lost in the Challenger disaster of 28 January 1986. STS-29 ended safely with a landing at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
