Thenerve fibers for the submaxillary gland make connections with nervecells lying mainly within the hilus of the gland itself. The supplyof sympathetic autonomics has the same general course as thosefor the parotid,—namely, through the cervical sympathetic to thesuperior cervical ganglion and thence to the glands.
