New features, such as great displays of growing plants in tubs, pots and boxes, and a real sweet pea garden in the hall, are sure to attract thou- sands of visitors. Never before has such a keen interest been taken in sweet peas. It is a common thing to run across growers with fifty to 100 varieties planted and some with even more, and every novelty procurable from England, New Zealand and America will be there. Surely no sweet pea lover should fail to see the coming show. In our last report of the peony and rose show at Horticultural hall we omitted to mention the fact that first- class certificates were awarded to E. J. Shaylor for his fine new peonies, Tourn- galle and Soulange. Everett E. Cummings, of Woburn, has grand crops of tomatoes and cu- cumbers in his houses now. He finds these pay much better as summer crops than flowers. He is benching 25,000 mums, but violets are his staple winter crop. N. F.
