Libya, Tripoli: Young guys breakdance at an open air dance and parkour festival.

LIBYA, TRIPOLI: A break Dance and parkour festival takes place in a public space with dozens of participants and hundreds of spectators. For almost a whole day dancers were battling against each other, a battle without blood, simply showing off new moves and enjoying dancing to loud music in open air. The 'b-boying' scene in Libya started around 1999 and is now, since Qaddafi's death, gaining new momentum. More and more young guys start to breakdance and do parkour. It is a way of expressing their feelings, rebelling against old conservative powers and also staying sane in times of constant political turmoil and violence. It is an autonomous youth culture, grown from the underground, without censoreship and control.
