Leaves linear, spatulate or lanceo-late, obtuse or subacute at the apex, cuneate atthe base and tapering into short petioles, serrateor serrulate, veiny, ihs long. 2-^ wide;spikes mostly solitafy at the ends of the branches,usually peduncled, slender, dense, 2-5 long;fruits overlapping or the lower somewhat dis-tant, I2 high; bracts lanceolate, acuminate,equalling or shorter than the calyx; corolla pur-ple or blue, about 3 long, its limb about asbroad, the lobes obovate or oblong.
