These are vertical, cross-com-pound condensing engines, running 138 r. p. m. Their ratedhorse-power is 750 with 150 lbs. steam pressure, and runningat the most economical point of cut off. The cylinders are18-in. and 36-in. x 36-in. stroke. The cylinders are madedouble ported, and ports are made large enough so that thepiston heads partially cover the pockets at the end of the stroke.
