The French "à la corde" pottery method of making large pots and urns, demonstrated at Rouen, France

The "poterie à la corde" French pottery method dates back to the late 19th century. The pot is built up with clay around a wooden frame wrapped with rope. As the clay begins to dry out and firm, the frame and rope are removed from inside the pot.
